Welcome to the Children's Book Corner

Note from the publisher - Nefu Books:

"While growing up in Igboland, Eastern Nigeria in the late1970s and early 1980s, Paul Nnodim enjoyed listening to his parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and older brothers and sisters tell tales of the trickster tortoise after dinner, under the beautiful light of the moon. These Moonlight stories, known in Igbo as Ufere or Ifo, awaken children’s imaginations, stimulate curiosity, and teach morals. The story of the tortoise and the birds teaches children the importance of self-control, recognizing another person’s view, and fairness.

Nnodim wrote this story so children will pity the tortoise and raise questions about his behavior. He wrote this story first for his then four-year old son, who enjoyed it so much that he always asked for more tortoise stories before going to bed. Now, he hopes that other kids will have lots of fun reading or listening to the story of The Tortoise and the Birds."

I hope you and your kid (s) will find this story (and many more stories to come) interesting.
