ReplyDeleteLike the coyote in Hopi and Navajo mythology, the tortoise is a trickster, and, sometimes, a scoundrel. Nevertheless, we find a bit of him in ourselves. We may even sympathize with him when he breaks his beautiful shell. But not too much. Such is life.
